5 Steps To Confidence

Hey guys!
I hope you're all well. I reached out to a great friend and inspiration of mine Ali Stevenson who just so happens to be an amazing confidence coach whom has helped me greatly with my own self-confidence. Ali runs 'The Happiness Hack', a place where you can keep up to date with inspiring quotes, thoughts of the day and confidence boosting posts and advice.

Ali was kind enough to help me write this post and because of this, here are 5 scientifically proven steps to confidence.

Beauty Haul | Product Review

Hey guys!

Summer is nearly over and I've been buying the typical pack to school things (makeup of course). I've collected a few new beauty products which I have never actually used before so seeing as this is a rare occurrence, I thought I would put together a haul / product review.

Beauty Q&A

Hey guys!

So it has been a while since I blogged last and I've really missed it. I'm going to be cramming lots in before I go back to school (yay), but that means I have a new post for you all!

I thought since I haven't been blogging in a while, I'd go straight in with a beauty related Q&A and so many of you asked me amazing questions, so thank you for that!

So recently a group of other bloggers and myself were asked to do a product review on the unique and imaginative designs that is "Liana Marcel Designs". We were asked to do this to give our opinions on the little unique accessories and items that would be sent out in a subscription box when you join The Marcel Club!

I am going to go through the box with you all and show you what you could receive when you sign up to!

What's In My Bag?

Hey guys!

I feel like I've done so many tutorials lately so I thought I would mix it up a little and do the "What's In My Bag" post. If I'm completely honest, my bag is never really this organised nor is it that interesting, but I'm going to pretend that my bag is very organised and neat (and hopefully interesting)!

How To: Smokey Eyes

Hey Guys!

Happy (official) summer to you all!

So if you've read previous blog posts, you'll know my obsession with smokey eyes, if you haven't read previous blog posts then (read them!) I am OBSESSED with smokey eyes. There, I finally confessed it. Now this obsession is unconsciously involved in every single makeup look I ever do, like ever! But there is a reason for that.

This look is just irresistibly beautiful and it suits anyone with anything (I think anyway) so I'm going to show you how I do my version of the Smokey Eye look!

How To: Ombré Lips

Hey Guys!
Happy Friday to you all! So if you read my Statement Lips blog post from a while back, you'll know that bright lips and 'statement' lipstick kind of scares me a little. There is nothing I love more than a person who can rock a bright lip, I envy them! However, regardless of my fear, I decided to try out the craze that is now Ombré lips. This is where a darker shade blends into a lighter shade and let me tell you, it is beautiful. If you loved the hair craze as much as I did and still do, then you are going to LOVE this!

I used two pinkish colours for both styles of lips however one is obviously brighter than the other. Ombré Lips are surprisingly easy to do especially considering how effortlessly beautiful they look as a finished product.

Prom: Makeup Tutorial

Hey Guys!
IT'S PROM SEASON!! That means a lot of makeup, good times, good memories and more makeup! I thought, even though I'm a little behind, I'd create a Prom Makeup Tutorial. I don't know about you guys, but I think there is something very satisfying about doing your own makeup to perfection and what better a night to feel absolutely beautiful than Prom?!

Prom is always, as cliche as it may be, the most magical night of teenage years and of course, you want to look pretty damn knock out. I thought a very sweet and light makeup would do the trick with gentle eyes that give the look a very innocent feel.

How To: Emphasise Your Eye Colour

Hey Guys!
Since it's prom season, I'm assuming a lot of people are going crazy trying to get the perfect look and it's always a good thing to know what will really look best on you! Finding the right eyeshadow that is going to enhance your eyes is always difficult but I'm hoping to make that a little easier in this weeks blog post and show you How To Emphasise Your Eyes.

Every eye colour is beautiful and its great to be able to emphasise your unique colour with something so simple like eyeshadow!

My Travel Essentials

Hey Guys!

So another blog post is late, but I have good reason. This weekend I flew to Ireland for a concert, which was fantastic by the way, but this got me thinking about travelling. Since summer is almost here (finally), it means its about time to pack our bags and prepare for the excitement of travelling, which brings me to todays blog post.

I thought I'd share with you all my travel essentials!

For me, I really like to be prepared on the plane because I tend to get pretty bored easily. I have only ever been on a really long flight once so I don't have much experience with preparing for a super long flight but I have my main essentials and little things I may need when I land! Whether its a long flight or really short, you can never be too prepared!

Blogger Love

Hey guys!

I hope you all had an awesome week! It is nearly summer and that has gotten me really excited, but for todays blog, it's another lazy post. I sat my French exam on Friday, et mon dieu, it was difficult! So forgive me for being lazy tonight, but I promise I have some very exciting blog posts in the making!

So as the title suggests, I'm going to be sharing some blogger love today and sharing with you my top 5 favourite beauty/fashion bloggers! I'm so excited to share this with you as without them, I would not be writing this right now!

I'm sure there will be a few familiar faces in the mix, but these beautiful women are my favourite all time bloggers and the reasons behind my inspiration to create my own blog!

Get The Look: Jen Law Past & Present

Hey Guys!

So in honour of the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence co-hosting the Met Gala 2015, I thought I would take the opportunity to look back at some of her best makeup looks and have some fun recreating them.
Jennifer is without a doubt one of the most stunning women in the industry currently, or at least I think so anyway, and with that being said, needs very minimal makeup. Her looks are basic and simple which is why it will be easier and more doable for regular people like ourselves to try them out (bonus for us)!

As always, Jennifer looked beautiful at the Met Gala, but I have too many fav looks from Jen that I couldn't possibly do one of her looks and bypass the rest of them! So, these are my four favourite Jen moments and makeup tutorials on how to achieve them yourself!

Kylie Jenner Challenge

Hey Guys!
If you haven't heard of the Kylie Jenner Challenge by now then where have you been?! This challenge is practically taking over the world, possessing people to suck on a lid until their lips are bigger than their face. I, the minority, have yet to do the Kylie Jenner Challenge (thank goodness), but I'm hoping my little tip will stop the sacrificing of lips whilst still giving you, at base, the Kylie Jenner lip!
Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge

So for those of you obsessing over plump lips (me) and wishing away your thin lips in the hopes that sucking into a bottle lid will bring you perfectly plumped up lips, I beg you to put down that bottle lid. If you're like myself and have spent most of your weekend laughing at the failed attempts of this "Kylie Jenner Challenge", then you will have more than likely been talked out of trying this phenomenon. Don't be disheartened though!

My Summer Favourites

Hey Guys!

So, something crazy happened. Scotland reached 20° and it has really gotten me into the mood for summer! For those of you thinking, 20°? Summer? Well, the stereotype is true and sun is a very rare sighting for Scotland, so even the tiniest glimpse has me reaching for my sandals and sunglasses.
Since this is currently very much the case, I thought, in honour of the minor heat we have been receiving, I would share with you...

 My Summer Favourites.

I am a huge fan of the whole Boho Chic look and I am loving that it has finally made a well deserved return into the stores and our wardrobes with a MASSIVE bang. It took to Coachella in its masses and all I have seen in store windows are tassels, tassels and more tassels.
The reason I am mentioning the Boho style is because it plays a massive part in my own individual style and my summer favourites. So lets start this ball rolling.

Statement Lips

Hey Guys!

So recently, I've been loving wearing lipstick. I don't have a reason as to why, but lipstick seems to be the part of the makeup aisle I very rarely venture into. For some strange reason, lipstick has always been that one makeup product that I have always tagged as 'out there'. I adore statement lips and I've always wished I could be one of those people who look really awesome with the bright red lipstick and not look like a circus clown. But then I watched this awesome video by Michelle Phan called "How To Wear Dark Lips" and the game changed immediately. So for all you lippy-phobes, this is for you.

Festival Wishlist ft.

Hey Guys!
It's about time this time of year came around. Yes, you know what time I mean. Festival time! Whether you're busy getting ready to hit Coachella, Glastonbury or T in the Park, we all know that along with who you want to see, what you're going to wear is at the forefront of your mind. So I thought I'd put together a little festival wishlist.

Festival Wishlist ft.
I am a massive fan of both festival clothing and of, so I thought why not merge the two into one post? (kill two birds with one stone kind of thing)

For this, I picked my favourite items from the website labelled under 'Festival' in order to create my wishlist. Hopefully I get to wear all of these someday because they're pretty freakin' awesome and well worthy of making an appearance on this wishlist.

Fashion Tips From A Fashion Blogger

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday to you all! For this weeks blog post, I thought I'd venture out and call on the help of an expert in their field and in the blogging business. The beautiful Marina De Giovanni, or better known as Not A Model kindly shared her knowledge with me in her field of fashion. Being an extremely well known Fashion Blogger, Marina knows exactly what she is talking about so I thought, who better to give advice on fashion than one of the most successful fashion bloggers themselves.

Marina is the founder of Not A Model, a fantastic fashion blog of which I am happily addicted. Not A Model has recently been getting me into the summer feeling with stunning outfit inspos, so when I got in touch with Marina, I was thrilled when I received a reply with all the answers to my questions.

Skincare Product Review: Gatineau & SBC

Hey Guys!
Happy Friday to you all. A slightly different blog post for this Friday, however I got my hands on these beautiful new products which are too good not to share so I thought I would do a little Product Review for you all. I know these brands are slightly more expensive than budget level, but I feel that for the perfect skincare, it is better to branch out a little in terms of price. Also, these bottles are pretty big so you are paying for quantity as well as quality here.

GRWM - Party Inspired Outfit.

Hey Guys!
I know, I know. It's Monday and I don't want to suddenly depress you all with the mention of the word party, but I'm going to do it anyway. With all good weekends comes a good party and I would like to share with you all a party inspired 'Get Ready With Me' outfit.

I went for a more casual, easily maintainable look for a night out with minimal makeup up and quite a sensible outfit. My hair was done by plaiting it in french braids either side the night before. This gave it quite a natural wave which was nice to wear down without much needing done to it. I then quickly gave it a little spray of my TRESemme Extra Hold Hairspray. Another way of doing this is by loosely curling your hair with either a curling wand or, my option, straighteners. Call me crazy, but I find it a hundred times easier curling my hair with straighteners than I ever have with a curling wand.

My Five Minute Makeup Routine

Hey Guys!
It's Friday! Yes, the weekend has finally arrived. No one is more grateful than me for that fact. As a student, the weekends are longed for with the weeks being such a rush nowadays, especially with the upcoming exams (sorry for the devastating reminder)! So for this week, I thought what better do to than a quick, easy makeup look that saves plenty of time but still leaves you looking awesome? There is nothing worse than rushing around, stressed out of your head and feeling like you aren't looking your best. I've been there and done that plenty a time. So in aid of this, I give you...

My Five Minute Makeup Routine

This is very similar to my "No Makeup" Makeup post I done not too long ago except a heck of a lot faster and easier to do. All it takes is your basic makeup appliances and five minutes of your time!

Hey Guys!

I've been having a serious craving for more beauty products, so I thought I'd temporally satisfy my needs with Beauty Wishlist whilst also slyly planning for the day I decide a beauty buying sesh is on the cards.

'Frozen' Inspired Hairstyle

Hey Guys!

It feels like so long since I last posted! I refuse to make excuses though I am going to attempt to make more time for blog posts. I've been neglecting the quality and depth within my posts and I am adamant to change that! Soon, fingers crossed very soon, I plan on making way more blog posts than just once a week. Please give some suggestions on what you would like to see!
So recently, my obsession with Frozen has revived itself, especially my obsession with Elsa's trademark hairstyle. Frozen is one of those movies which reaches out to all age groups, so I feel completely fine admitting my obsession and my undying wish to look like Elsa. So I thought, let's be a child for the day and look like Elsa.

Pink For Spring: Makeup Tutorial

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday to you all! This week, I've really been getting in the mood for Spring, so I thought, why not do a Spring inspired makeup tutorial. Now, I know pink isn't always everyone's colour. I know for me, it is so far out of my comfort zone that the pinks I used in the tutorial had never before been opened and that is rare for me. I have no patience at all, so leaving a makeup product in the background to collect dust is not in my character. But since it is finally Spring and I want nothing more than to see the flowers blossoming and the sun shining, I thought I'd cheer myself up a little and bring Spring to this blog post.

How to: Cheap and Easy Way To Clean Makeup Brushes

Hey Guys!

Recently, I've realised how much I have been neglecting my makeup brushes and that is not ok. As a fellow makeup lover, I know makeup brushes are the soul appliance in order to apply my makeup and in order to do that, it is a must that they are constantly looking their best. I've realised now that cleaning your makeup brushes on a regular basis is key to the perfect application and the perfect skin. Did you know dirty makeup brushes can cause your skin to break out? I certainly wasn't aware of this before I became an avid makeup lover. If you're like me and can never seem to find the time to clean your makeup brushes, then this should really help you.

How To: Cheap and Easy Way To Clean Makeup Brushes
I know for me personally, when I first really got into makeup I had no clue how to clean my brushes! Heck, I didn't even know you had to clean your brushes! I thought, along with everything else in the makeup industry, it would be extremely expensive but I was completely wrong on both accounts. Everything I needed, I conveniently had within my own house and I had no reason to go splashing out on expensive brush cleaner or the need to buy new brushes. If you learn how to clean your brushes properly, then they can last you a lifetime!

Brit Awards Inspired Makeup

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday to you all! So these past few weeks have been pretty awesome, with London Fashion Week, NY Fashion Week, the Grammy's and of course the Brit Awards. All have played a massive part in contributing something extra to the fashion and beauty industry and today I want to share a makeup look that I found pretty fun to recreate from the Brit Awards.
If you watched the Brit Awards and didn't just watch Madonna falling down the stairs on repeat (guilty as charged) then you will have noticed some of the amazing faces that graced the stage, one of which being the beautiful Rita Ora. She wore stunning dark smoky eyeshadow, making it the stand out feature of her makeup with a simple nude lip. So I recreated this piece for today's blog post...

Brit Awards Inspired Makeup

For this makeup look, I made the eyes the standout feature, just like Rita's, and kept everything else to the very basics, using my Urban Decay Foundation because, what else would I use? The whole makeup recreation was pretty simple despite the first thoughts of it being very time consuming.

"Do It Yourself" Fashion: Ripped Jeans

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday to you all! So guys, it hasn't even been two months yet and I'm head over heels with this blogging malarky! I wouldn't be enjoying this as much is it wasn't for you all reading, all 2K of you! Yes, I've reached over 2K views! How the heck did that happen?! I can't thank you all enough.
Anyways, for this post, I thought I'd do something a little different. I have so many people asking me, 'where did you buy your jeans?!' then fail to believe me when I tell them I ripped them myself. So today, I am going to show you how to create very cheap and very simple, custom made ripped jeans. I give you...
DIY Fashion: Ripped Jeans

I was happily surprised by the results that came from such simple materials and little effort, and pretty darn chuffed that so many people thought they were store bought! It's a nice feeling knowing that you didn't have to splash out on a lovely looking pair of ripped jeans and even better knowing that you are able to keep your favourite pairs of older worn out jeans and revamp them! I know that's my favourite part of doing this fantastic DIY trick.

Spring Trend Predictions

Hey Guys!

It is scary to think it is almost Spring time! Blink and Winter is gone, but lets not worry. As much as I know we all secretly love hibernating in our less than trendy knitted jumpers and cozying up with our fluffy socks on, times are quickly moving on. It's almost time to say goodbye to our cuddly friends and say hello to the season of Spring in style. Don't get me wrong, I love my knitted jumpers as much as the next person but the thought of warmer weather, fresh flowers and brand new outfits over powers my sad addiction to wooly jumper dresses. Numerous magazines and my fav fashion bloggers have been clueing me up on the trends to prepare for this Spring and I'm excited to share them all with you! So without further ado...

Spring Trend Predictions

There are far too many trends arising for this Spring that I simply could not fit them all into one blog post! So, I've decided to organise this, despite my out of control excitement to share them all with you! I've picked my favourite trends and also ones I feel are pretty varied so that if you don't like one of the trends then hopefully there is another one to your taste!

Get Ready With Me - party edition

Hey Guys!

So this Friday I attended a party which I was extremely excited about and with all good parties, the best part is always the ability to splash out on a new wardrobe without anyone asking questions so I grabbed this chance with both hands! I bought a whole new outfit, including brand new opaque tights which always seems to be so difficult! Apparently shops fail to sell tights in such a pale colour, but I did end up purchasing a fab pair of ladder resistant tights eventually.
But since I fell totally and completely in love with this look, despite my struggle finding tights, I thought I'd share it all with you in a 'Get Ready With Me - party edition'.

GRWM - party edition

I have been so excited about this outfit and couldn't wait to share it! If you follow my twitter you'll know I've been more than thrilled that floral prints are said to be coming into fashion this spring and that makes me a very happy girl! If you haven't guessed already, I adore floral prints. Personally, I feel that they look great with everything and can glam up any outfit effortlessly and can also do the complete opposite. The reason I love them so much is because there is no labels pinned to floral prints saying they're formal or they're casual. You can rock a floral print on any occasion. And if you need another reason to love them, the aura of class and elegance they radiate is just unreal.

"No Makeup" Makeup

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday to you all! It's been a pretty hectic week this week but I've managed to squeeze in a few extra blog posts for you all including my Boohoo Haul which you guys all seemed to like a lot! I'll definitely be doing more hauls for sure, but this week I've attempted to answer a question that a lot of people continuously ask me. How do you do your makeup so natural? Well, the answer is...

"No Makeup" Makeup

Natural eyeshadow with minimal lips

So please excuse my Anna and Elsa pillow in the background (I didn't buy it, I swear).
I just adore this makeup. It isn't completely unnoticeable, but it isn't completely in your face. It seems to fit the occasion just perfectly and in my case, the occasion for this particular makeup is usually school or everyday routines. This makeup is my go-to makeup when I'm in a hurry or simply cannot be bothered with the callings of society. It takes minimal effort and minimal skill but looks red carpet worthy when you see the finished results.

January Favourites

Hey Guys!

Happy February to you all! Time seems to be flying past now, I mean I can't believe that's January finished already! Soon I'll be typing out my February Favourites complaining about how it was just January.
Anyways, I thought it was about time I done a January Favourites as I've been so inspired reading everyone else's and there is a few new products I've been using which I want to share with you all as they're pretty damn fantastic. I know I'm three days behind the end of January but better late than never! So here it goes!

January Favourites

Ok, so I've basically been sticking to what I know when it comes to my makeup and haven't really branched out on anything new so far this month but I do have a few new items with the occasional beauty product to share with you all. I'm really struggling to find new makeup products that are better than the ones I already own. I'm definitely a scaredy cat when it comes to trying and testing new products, but I may make that a belated New Years Resolution as I'm certain there are so many more products I could get my hands on that I just haven't found yet. If you know any or have any recommendations please do share!

Wear It. Beat It.

Hey Guys!

So this post it a little different, but please bear with me as this is equally as important as your beautiful styling tips! Thanks

Boohoo Haul

Hey Guys!

So something kind of awesome happened yesterday which I owe completely to you all reading this right now... This average little blog thats been here less than a month somehow managed to receive 1000 views! Like that is unreal! I'm still not over it.
I can't thank you enough for taking time out of your busy lives to read this!
I don't know why you do it, why you like it or why you continue to read this but it makes me very happy! Don't stop there though as I have a different kind of blog post for you all today.

So if you don't know already, I'm kind of obsessed with dresses. Day dresses, formal dresses, night dresses, you name it, I probably own it. I went kind of crazy on and bought so many day dresses it's unreal but as you can see they're not particularly weather suited at the minute (silently crying that it isn't summer yet)! I'm holding onto the hope we get a fab summer so I can wear these everyday! I had soo many more choices, but I just picked my three favs.

Golden Globes Inspired Makeup

Hey Guys!

I know, I know, it's Saturday... I'm sorry but hopefully you'll forgive me after you read this awesome blog post... *nudge nudge, hint hint*
So recently there has been a huge Golden Globes hype going on and I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. I've got to admit, it was seriously difficult to pick just one style that I loved because there were just sooo many! Serious congratulations to all the beauty that was parading the red carpet this year, I mean wow. That's all I can say..
Anyways! Because there was such a tough choice of beautiful people and styles with beautiful makeup and hair and ah! I decided not only to pick one, but to pick two. Yes, I know, I went for it.
So without further adieu..

Golden Globes Inspired Makeup

For this, I was inspired by the makeup worn by Allison Williams (top left) and Emma Stone (bottom left). I loved both of their makeup equally and couldn't pick a favourite so I decided, why pick one when you can do both? Although they are absolutely stunning and look extremely complex, I was surprised to find that it was actually quite simple to do and I didn't need state-of-the-art makeup equipment in order to do them. The makeup and brushes I used to do this are the same things I've banged on about in all my other posts and you can read more about them in my Winter Eyes makeup tutorial.

Hey Guys!

Winter Eyes ft. My Sister

Hey Guys!

I know I said "posts every Friday" and it is in fact now Saturday, but I did have an excuse planned out which I can't remember, so I'll just apologise and pretend it will never happen again!
So swiftly moving on...

New Year, New Blog, New Makeup!

Hey guys!,
So I know I'm precisely 6 days late on the whole "New Year, New Me" malarky, however I thought I'd firstly introduce myself and say Hi!
Secondly (and more importantly), I thought I'd introduce my new makeup!

In The Nude, Natural Nudes - Eye colour palette
Kohl Eyeliner Pencil - 926 White

These are personally two of my favs. The 'In The Nude' palette has so many beautiful colours and are so simple to wear either going out or for casual. Honestly, they would look so much better with blue eyes as the colours are a mixture of pink and purple (colours that scientifically enhance blue eyes), however being a green eyed girl, I seriously don't care because they go with anything and look simply fab.
